So how does laser hair removal work?
The laser light is attracted to the pigment in the hair follicle and damages it at the root, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. The damaged hair follicle will then no longer produce hair.
Not all hair is in an active phase (or in the follicle at once), which is why multiple sessions are required to ensure every hair follicle gets damaged.
We suggest 6-8 sessions of laser hair removal per area for up to 90% reduction. This may vary slightly from person to person. Hormone irregularities, such as PCOS, or major hormone changes, such as pregnancy or menopause can affect results. It is important to schedule your appointments
every 4-8 weeks depending on the area of the body to get the best results possible.
As AMAZING as laser hair removal is, you do need to be prepared for some restrictions and pre and post care to ensure safe healing.
You can return to most of your normal activities right away, but there may be some redness in the treated area. It is important to refrain from anything that causes excessive heat or sweat for 24 hours following your treatment. Avoid direct sun exposure 7-10 days after treatment and when doing a series of treatments it is important to keep the area covered and out of the sun for the span of your treatments. ALWAYS apply SPF30+ to the areas exposed to the sun. It is also important to only shave in between laser treatments. The hair follicle must be completely intact to be properly damaged by the laser.
